Dynacord Enhances SONICUE Ecosystem

Dynacord has released version 1.6 of its SONICUE Sound System Software, introducing a series of significant enhancements aimed at expanding DSP functionality, strengthening third-party integration capabilities and increasing control flexibility for installers and systems integrators.

Designed around Dynacord’s core principles of simplicity, clarity and transparency, SONICUE provides a comprehensive platform for configuring, tuning and operating complete sound systems. Its interactive interface delivers a clear overview of system parameters, enabling users to manage complex installations efficiently and in real time. With the arrival of version 1.6, the software gains a host of new features that further extend the capabilities of the SONICUE ecosystem, particularly for users of the IX Series multichannel DSP networked power amplifiers.

One of the most notable additions is the introduction of Automixer and Ducker functionality for the IX Series. The Automixer employs the same gain-sharing algorithm found in Dynacord’s flagship MXE5-64 Matrix Mix Engine and can be assigned across all inputs. Adjustable speed settings allow the system to be optimised for a wide range of environments, including houses of worship, conference facilities and other speech-centric applications.

Complementing this is the new Ducker function, which automatically attenuates background music or other audio sources in response to microphone activity. Triggering can be assigned from any available input or mix bus through a sidechain source, providing flexible control for announcement and paging applications. Both processing functions are fully configurable within SONICUE and significantly enhance the processing power available within IX Series amplifiers, enabling compact, high-performance system designs without requiring additional external DSP hardware.

Beyond DSP enhancements, Dynacord has substantially expanded SONICUE’s third-party integration capabilities through updates to the TaskEngine platform embedded within both the MXE5-64 Matrix Mix Engine and IX Series amplifiers.

Version 1.6 introduces new protocol blocks supporting TCP, UDP, WebSocket and PJLink communication, enabling direct interaction with a broad range of third-party devices using standard IP-based control commands. The addition of PJLink support allows projector control and status monitoring to be incorporated directly into SONICUE control panels, while dedicated protocol blocks for Visionary Solutions AV encoder and decoder devices enable unified management of audio and video systems through a single interface.

These enhancements position SONICUE Control as a viable primary control platform for smaller installations, potentially eliminating the need for a dedicated external control system while simplifying overall system architecture.

The latest software release also expands hardware deployment options through native Android support for SONICUE Control, the platform’s panel viewer application. SONICUE Control enables customised system-wide control interfaces to be designed using the SONICUE Panel Designer and operated across multiple device types.

With version 1.6, the application can now run directly on Android-based hardware, including commercially available tablets and touch panels. Two dedicated versions are available: an Install version designed for fixed touch-panel deployments that mirrors the functionality of the TPC-1 hardware controller, and a Mobile version tailored for smartphones and tablets, offering a user experience aligned with the existing iOS application.

Supporting Android 12 and newer operating systems, the new implementation provides installers and end users with a flexible and cost-effective alternative to dedicated control hardware, while expanding deployment options across a broader range of projects.

Additional improvements introduced in SONICUE 1.6 include the ability to change speaker modes without disconnecting loudspeakers from connected amplifiers, as well as enhanced drag-and-drop functionality within both the Panel Designer and TaskEngine environments, streamlining programming workflows and reducing setup times.

Dynacord has also included five new demonstration projects covering a variety of installation scenarios, providing users with practical examples to accelerate system design and deployment.

Available immediately as a free download from Dynacord’s website, SONICUE 1.6 further strengthens the platform’s position as a comprehensive system management environment, delivering enhanced processing power, broader integration possibilities and greater control flexibility for modern installed sound applications.
