SSL Media Technologies Ushers in a New Era with India’s First Ayrton Touring System

INDIA: A defining chapter has begun in India’s live production landscape as SSL Media Technologies, one of the nation’s foremost lighting and production powerhouses, has invested in over 200 units of Ayrton’s Rivale and Veloce fixtures, establishing the country’s first full-scale Ayrton touring system. The acquisition was facilitated by Vardhaman Mega-Tech (VMT) – Ayrton’s official distribution partner in India, further cementing the French brand’s growing presence across Asia.

Founded and led by Ulhas Sahasrabuddhe, a pioneer with more than four decades of experience in India’s stage and lighting industry, SSL sports one of India’s largest on-ground production teams and a roster of elite lighting designers and engineers; with its portfolio including spectacular events such as Sunburn Arena, EVC (Enchanted Valley Carnival), and Supersonic Music Festival, as well as grand corporate showcases for Tata Motors, Mahindra Group, and Reliance Industries. Beyond live entertainment, SSL dominates the television and film lighting segment, holding an estimated 95% market share in the non-fiction category of Hindi and Marathi TV, with long-standing collaborations with ZEE, Sony, and Star.

Having joined the company in 2022 as an intern and now serving as Head of Production, Akshay combines engineering precision with contemporary creativity to steer SSL towards international benchmarks.
