Clear-Com Unveils Avalon Ennovations Knowledge Hub Latest by Elton - June 24, 2026June 21, 2026 Clear-Com has expanded its communications portfolio with the introduction of Avalon, a purpose-built 1RU IP intercom platform designed to support the growing demands of fully networked broadcast, live event and production environments. Developed specifically for IP-centric workflows, Avalon delivers scalable communications infrastructure in a compact form factor while providing a flexible pathway for future expansion. Positioned as a streamlined alternative for users operating entirely within IP ecosystems, Avalon supports FreeSpeak wireless beltpacks, HelixNet digital partyline, V-Series user panels and I.V. Direct connectivity. The platform eliminates the need for analogue audio connectivity, allowing organisations to simplify system architecture while maintaining the performance and reliability associated with Clear-Com solutions. A key feature of Avalon is its scalable licensed port architecture, enabling users to configure capacity according to immediate operational requirements and expand the system over time without replacing hardware. This approach provides greater investment protection while allowing facilities, broadcasters and production companies to adapt communications infrastructure as their workflows evolve. Designed for modern converged networks, Avalon supports AES67, Dante and Clear-Com’s I.V. Direct technologies, facilitating both local and remote connectivity across a wide range of production environments. The platform also delivers enhanced IP capacity and networking flexibility, making it well suited to increasingly distributed production models and large-scale networked deployments. “Avalon represents a major step forward in how intercom systems are designed and deployed,” said Dave MacKinnon, VP of Product Management at Clear-Com. “We focused on simplifying deployment while maintaining the flexibility and performance our customers expect. The result is a modern IP platform that enables teams to scale efficiently and communicate reliably across a wide range of environments.” Housed within a compact 1RU rack-mounted chassis, Avalon is designed for installations where space efficiency is critical. Despite its small footprint, the platform supports a broad range of user stations, channels and IP connectivity options, offering the scalability required for productions of varying sizes and complexity. Clear-Com notes that Avalon complements, rather than replaces, its existing Arcadia Central Station platform. While Arcadia continues to serve applications requiring hybrid analogue and IP connectivity, front-panel controls and legacy system integration, Avalon provides a dedicated solution for organisations seeking a cost-efficient platform built exclusively around IP workflows. “With Avalon, we wanted to remove traditional barriers to system design and expansion,” said Frank Linton, Product Manager at Clear-Com. “The licensed port architecture allows users to scale capacity over time without replacing hardware, while support for open standards helps simplify integration into existing workflows.” Share on Facebook Share Share on TwitterTweet Share on Pinterest Share Share on LinkedIn Share Share on Digg Share
