THAILAND: VEGA celebrated its 40th anniversary with a gala dinner at The Athenee Hotel in Bangkok, bringing together more than 200 international clients, consultants, vendor partners, executive leadership and regional team members to commemorate four decades of growth while outlining the company’s vision for the future of the audiovisual industry.

The evening opened with a live drum and violin performance before formal proceedings commenced with an address from VEGA CEO Steve Medeiros, who shared the company’s strategic outlook. Founder and Board Member Laurie Chow then reflected on VEGA’s journey over the past four decades, expressing appreciation to the employees, customers and partners who have contributed to the company’s growth since its previous major anniversary celebration in Hong Kong. The occasion was marked with commemorative gifts presented to both leaders, followed by a global toast featuring the executive leadership team and regional country managers.

The programme also highlighted the company’s regional expansion through presentations from senior leadership across key markets. Executive Director Molly Chow shared updates on VEGA’s continued growth across Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Greater China and South Korea, while also highlighting initiatives aimed at supporting women in the AV industry. Managing Director Richard Johns reflected on the establishment and development of VEGA Japan, and Blessing Joseph, SVP and Managing Director for VEGA India and MEA, outlined the company’s expansion across India, the Middle East and Africa since opening its first Mumbai office in 2012.

The anniversary celebrations also featured recognition from AVIXA, with CEO David Labuskes and Chief Global Officer Sarah Joyce presenting VEGA with a commemorative gift in honour of the company’s 40-year milestone.

Guests later enjoyed a multi-course dinner accompanied by live entertainment and an interactive prize draw featuring technology hardware provided by industry partners. The event was supported by sponsors including Absen, Crestron, Gude, LG, Neat, Q-SYS, Shure, ViewSonic and Yamaha, before concluding with a group photograph and an immersive light show celebrating VEGA’s next chapter.
