The Star Performing Arts Centre Strengthens Wireless Monitoring with Shure Axient Digital PSM Install Knowledge Hub Latest News by Elton - July 27, 2026 SINGAPORE: The Star Performing Arts Centre has strengthened its wireless audio infrastructure with the deployment of Shure’s Axient Digital PSM (ADPSM) in-ear monitoring system, enabling greater RF efficiency, improved monitoring capabilities, and enhanced operational flexibility for demanding live productions. As one of Singapore’s premier performance venues, The Star Performing Arts Centre regularly hosts productions with high channel-count wireless requirements and complex stage designs. The venue’s technical team identified the need for a more advanced wireless monitoring solution to address increasing RF challenges and maintain reliable coverage across diverse show environments. “Previously, when we were using the PSM1000 system, we were working with two different frequency bands. It was challenging to secure enough clean RF spectrum for productions with high channel-count requirements,” said Keiji Numayama, Manager, Audio of The Star Performing Arts Centre. “Coverage could also become an issue when performances bring in large stage sets and multiple LED panels across the stage.” The upgrade to Shure’s ADPSM has helped The Star Performing Arts Centre address these challenges while maintaining a familiar workflow within the Shure ecosystem. Key features such as ShowLink and Spatial Diversity have provided the team with greater control, stronger visibility, and improved confidence during live productions. The system also integrates seamlessly with the Shure ADX microphones already in use at The Star Performing Arts Centre, as both platforms support ShowLink. This allows the technical team to manage and monitor key wireless functions more efficiently within a unified Shure workflow. “ShowLink has been a real game changer, and so has Spatial Diversity,” explained Keiji. “Monitoring has improved significantly. Instead of checking each bodypack individually, we can now monitor battery levels, audio quality and RF performance remotely. That is extremely useful during live shows, and being able to make changes to multiple packs at the same time means we can react much faster.” The new system has allowed Keiji and his team to maintain their familiar workflows while benefiting from enhanced remote management capabilities that save valuable time during monitoring, adjustments and troubleshooting. “Setup time remains largely similar, although we spend a little more time ensuring packs are connected to ShowLink,” said Keiji. “Since we’re still operating within the Shure ecosystem, our overall workflow remains unchanged. The biggest improvement is the ability to monitor and manage the system remotely.” Electronics & Engineering (E&E) played a key role in supporting the deployment, working closely with Keiji and his team to complete the transition within a tight implementation window. With limited time available, careful coordination was required to minimise disruption and ensure the system was ready for upcoming productions. “Due to the limited time available, the system change had to be carefully coordinated and executed,” noted Keiji. “The experience and expertise of E&E’s technical team made the transition smooth and ensured minimal system downtime.” With Shure Axient Digital PSM in place, The Star Performing Arts Centre is now better equipped to support today’s increasingly demanding live production environments. The upgrade strengthens the venue’s ability to deliver reliable wireless monitoring for artists and production teams, while giving its technical team greater control over every show to enhance the overall experience for audiences.
