Meyer Sound Establishes Shanghai Manufacturing Facility to Support Growing Demand in China Knowledge Hub Latest News by Elton - June 9, 2026 CHINA: Meyer Sound has expanded its presence in China with the opening of a new manufacturing facility and office in Shanghai, a move designed to strengthen support for one of the world’s most active and rapidly growing live sound markets. Operated as a wholly owned subsidiary, the new facility will manufacture a selection of the company’s most popular loudspeaker products exclusively for the Chinese market. Located in western Shanghai, the 4,500-square-metre facility has been established in response to increasing demand across the country, particularly from performing arts centres, theatres and live entertainment venues in emerging cities beyond China’s largest metropolitan hubs. The site will initially employ personnel across product assembly, quality control and finance functions, with manufacturing processes and testing procedures aligned closely with those used at Meyer Sound’s global headquarters in Berkeley, California. To ensure consistency across production operations, Meyer Sound personnel from Berkeley will provide training and ongoing support during the facility’s initial phase, helping to maintain the quality control standards that underpin the company’s global manufacturing operations. The investment comes at a time of sustained growth within China’s professional audio sector. Expansion of live music venues, a thriving festival landscape and continued investment in cultural and performing arts infrastructure have all contributed to increased demand for high-performance sound reinforcement systems. China has already emerged as Meyer Sound’s largest market for PANTHER line arrays outside the United States, with sales driven in part through its distribution partnership with Shanghai Broad Future (SBF). The new Shanghai facility is expected to play a key role in supporting this momentum by enabling local production of several flagship Meyer Sound products. Manufacturing will initially focus on the PANTHER line array loudspeaker and the 2100-LFC low-frequency control element, with production of the TIGRA line array and 1800-LFC scheduled to be added later this year. “The new factory will significantly accelerate Meyer Sound’s momentum in one of the world’s most active markets for live sound and the performing arts,” says Senior Vice President John McMahon. “This facility is about supporting the next phase of that growth.” Share on Facebook Share Share on TwitterTweet Share on Pinterest Share Share on LinkedIn Share Share on Digg Share
