Ayrton Rivale Profiles Bring Precision and Emotion to Chiai Fujikawa Performance

JAPAN: Ayrton’s Rivale Profile fixtures played a central role in the visual design of Japanese rock artist Chiai Fujikawa’s Just Resonate concert, held on 13 June at Tokyo’s Nihonbashi Mitsui Hall. Designed by lighting designer Naoki Ito of OverTheClip, the production used 22 units of the Rivale Profile luminaires that were provided by PRG K.K, to create a dynamic lighting environment that evolved alongside the singer’s wide-ranging musical performance.

Performed before an audience of around 1,000 fans, the concert centred on the concept of translating music into a synchronised visual experience. Positioned above the stage, the Rivale Profile fixtures delivered tightly focused beams that accompanied the show’s energetic opening, with high-intensity aerial effects and rapid movements complementing the driving rhythms of the performance.

As the concert progressed through contrasting musical styles, from hard-hitting rock to more intimate and emotional moments, the lighting design shifted accordingly. The Rivale Profile fixtures transitioned from fast-paced beam and strobe effects to richly saturated colour washes and textured lighting, creating visual scenes that reflected the changing mood of the performance while maintaining a cohesive visual narrative throughout the show.

According to Ayrton, Naoki Ito selected the Rivale Profile for its versatility and responsiveness, enabling the lighting design to adapt seamlessly to the varying dynamics of Chiai Fujikawa’s performance. The fixtures were used to produce both sharply defined beam effects and broader atmospheric looks, supporting the concert’s emphasis on the relationship between music, emotion and light.

The production demonstrated the flexibility of the Rivale Profile platform across a performance that demanded rapid visual transitions, reinforcing its suitability for concerts and live entertainment applications where creative versatility and precision are equally important.
