TDC Strengthens Experiential Focus with Chris Fitzgerald Appointment Knowledge Hub Latest News by Elton - August 4, 2026August 3, 2026 AUSTRALIA: Technical Direction Company (TDC) has promoted Chris Fitzgerald to the newly created role of Head of Experiential & Installations, underscoring the company’s continued strategic focus on immersive environments, museums, attractions and cultural destinations. Having spent more than a decade with the organisation, Fitzgerald will lead TDC’s expanding experiential portfolio, working with clients to develop visitor experiences from concept through to final delivery. Positioning itself beyond the role of a conventional AV supplier, TDC combines creative, technical and production expertise to support museums, attractions, architects, designers and producers in developing engaging, technology-driven visitor experiences. Its capabilities span projection, LED, virtual production, interactive technologies and large-scale content integration, enabling flexible installations that can evolve alongside changing audience expectations. The company’s portfolio includes high-profile projects such as Powerhouse Parramatta, BBC Earth Experience, Frida Kahlo: The Life of an Icon, Sistine Chapel: Revelations, Vivid Sydney and virtual production for the Australian feature film Mercy Road, reflecting its involvement across a broad spectrum of experiential and cultural applications. “Experiential projects are no longer just about technology, they’re about creating memorable places and experiences,” said Michael Hassett, Founder & CEO of TDC. “Chris’s appointment strengthens TDC’s ability to partner with clients early in the creative process, where the biggest opportunities are realised.” Commenting on his new role, Fitzgerald added: “Clients often come to us with a technical challenge, but our greatest value lies in helping shape the creative outcome from the very beginning. Our goal is to create experiences that people want to return to, experiences that remain engaging and relevant long after opening day.” The appointment comes ahead of REMIX Summit Sydney 2026, where TDC’s Head of Innovation & Training, Drew Ferors, will present When & How to Have “The” Creative-Technical Conversation, a session examining how earlier collaboration between creative and technical teams can help deliver stronger and more engaging visitor experiences.
