INDIA: Blending premium dining with large-scale event hosting, Cuore by Masala Diaries in Rajkot has implemented a Yamaha Professional Audio solution designed to deliver distinct sonic experiences across its restaurant and banquet spaces while addressing the acoustic challenges posed by the venue’s contemporary architecture.

Developed by the Masala Diaries Group, Cuore combines a high-ceiling restaurant with a versatile banquet hall capable of accommodating everything from weddings and corporate functions to live performances and DJ events. While the expansive interiors create a striking visual identity, the large vertical volumes and reflective building materials presented significant challenges for achieving consistent speech intelligibility and balanced sound coverage.

Working in collaboration with Masala Diaries and system integrator Raghav Technology, Yamaha designed an integrated Pro Audio solution that delivers subtle background music in the restaurant while providing high-output reinforcement for event-driven spaces.

The restaurant’s approximately 35-foot ceiling, combined with glass surfaces, polished flooring and designer ceiling treatments, created conditions prone to excessive reverberation, echo build-up and uneven sound distribution. Conventional ceiling-mounted loudspeakers were deemed unsuitable due to increased reliance on reflected sound and reduced direct coverage.

To overcome these challenges, Yamaha deployed a distributed audio system comprising Yamaha VXH8W pendant loudspeakers suspended at optimised heights to maximise direct sound while reducing unwanted reflections. Low-frequency reinforcement is provided by Yamaha CXS15XLF subwoofers, carefully tuned to add warmth and depth without excessive bass build-up.

The restaurant system is powered by Yamaha PX Series amplifiers, with a PX10 driving the pendant loudspeakers and a PX8 dedicated to the subwoofers. A Yamaha MG10X mixer provides straightforward signal management and day-to-day operational control.

In the adjoining banquet space, Yamaha specified a higher-output sound reinforcement system capable of supporting weddings, corporate events, live performances, DJ sets, conferences and speech-based presentations. Yamaha CHR12 loudspeakers have been strategically positioned to provide uniform full-range coverage throughout the hall, while Yamaha CXS15XLF subwoofers deliver the low-frequency impact required for music-focused events. Yamaha PX Series amplifiers provide the necessary power, headroom and reliability across the venue’s diverse event formats.

The entire installation has been engineered as a unified Yamaha ecosystem, integrating VXH Series, CHR Series, PX Series and MG Series products. Detailed system tuning and calibration, including customised equalisation and alignment for each acoustic zone, ensure consistent performance throughout the venue while allowing the audio system to adapt seamlessly to changing operational requirements.

The completed installation delivers balanced background music within the restaurant, uniform coverage without audible hotspots or dead zones, and a comfortable acoustic environment that supports conversation while enhancing the overall dining experience. In the banquet area, the system provides the flexibility and output required for high-energy entertainment as well as speech-focused events, enabling smooth transitions between different event formats through an intuitive and reliable platform.
