Outline Strengthens Footprint with Riccos Sound & Lights Appointment in Cyprus

CYPRUS: Outline Professional Audio has expanded its presence in the Eastern Mediterranean with the appointment of Riccos Sound & Lights as its exclusive distributor for Cyprus, reinforcing its commitment to markets where installation and live-event requirements continue to mature. The agreement was formalised following a visit to Outline’s headquarters by Pambos and Dimitris Christodoulou, owners and managers of Riccos Sound & Lights, underlining a shared alignment on technology, service philosophy and long-term market development.

Founded in 1989, Riccos Sound & Lights stands as one of Cyprus’ longest-established family-owned companies operating across professional audio and lighting. What began as the first musical instrument shop in Paphos steadily evolved into a full-spectrum operation encompassing professional sound, lighting, event production and system integration. Both brothers trained in London, with Pambos specialising in audio engineering at SAE and LAE, and Dimitris pursuing advanced lighting studies, experience that positioned the company to handle increasingly complex installations and technically demanding projects across the island.

For Riccos Sound & Lights, Outline’s engineering-led approach played a decisive role in shaping the partnership. “Outline has always struck us as a company that builds things with intention — solid engineering, real durability and a clear technical identity. We’ve followed their journey over the years, and knowing the experience behind the brand made us confident that this partnership would be a good match for us,” says Pambos Christodoulou.

From a market perspective, Outline’s product families closely align with the varied demands of Cyprus’ rental and installation landscape. The P Series, comprising six compact coaxial models, is positioned as a premium yet versatile solution capable of serving both rental applications and fixed installations. Riccos Sound & Lights anticipates these systems being deployed across live sound, theatre and corporate events, as well as clubs, theatres and immersive or distributed audio environments that are prevalent throughout the country.

The A Series, characterised by its slim profile and discreet aesthetics, is seen as particularly well suited to refined hospitality venues. Outline’s own positioning of the range — “Sonic excellence finally rhymes with Architectural elegance” — is expected to resonate strongly with architects and interior designers involved in high-end restaurants, cafés and wine bars. Meanwhile, the H Series is highlighted for its relevance in acoustically challenging environments such as churches and monasteries, where speech intelligibility is critical and remains a common challenge in Cyprus.

Beyond small-to-mid-scale rental applications addressed by the P Series, Riccos Sound & Lights also identifies Superfly and Mantas 28 as systems suited to festivals and large-scale live productions. “We’ve always stood close to our clients, whatever the scale of their needs,” adds Christodoulou. “We believe in tailored service — from installation to after-sales support and training.”

Commenting on the partnership and the recent headquarters visit, Fernando Rey Méndez, Outline’s Sales & Marketing Director, emphasised the importance of transparency and collaboration in distributor relationships. “Hosting Pambos and Dimitris offered us the opportunity to show not only our technologies, but also the way we work as an organisation. Every visit involves several departments — from engineering to applications and business development — each contributing with their own expertise. When partners see how coordinated and methodical this process is, it becomes easier to understand the culture behind our products. Their engagement throughout the visit made the exchange especially productive.”
