Epson NZ Celebrates 40 Years with New Experience Centre Knowledge Hub Latest News by Elton - October 23, 2026October 15, 2026 NEW ZEALAND: Epson New Zealand has marked 40 years in Aotearoa with the opening of a new office and experience centre in Freemans Bay, Auckland, combining the anniversary milestone with a facility designed to demonstrate the company’s technologies in practical applications. Established in 1986, Epson New Zealand began with a portfolio spanning computers, dot matrix printers, inkjet printers and projectors. The business has since expanded beyond its consumer-focused origins to serve retail, education, corporate, commercial and industrial markets. Its current portfolio includes home and office printers, scanners, thermal receipt printers, projectors, large-format printers, industrial print solutions and software tools designed to improve productivity and usability. Craig Heckenberg, Managing Director of Epson Australia and New Zealand, said the anniversary reflected both the company’s history and its ambitions for the local market. “We are thrilled to commemorate this significant milestone in our company’s history. For 40 years, Epson New Zealand has helped shape the way people and businesses communicate, create and grow. That legacy has been built on a foundation of technology, leadership and partnership.” The new experience centre is intended to provide customers, channel partners and industry professionals with direct access to Epson’s technologies. Visitors can explore applications across its portfolio and see products operating in real-world settings, with company experts available to demonstrate their capabilities. The facility also provides a dedicated space for engagement with customers and partners across the markets Epson serves. Heckenberg attributed the business’s development to the support of its Japanese parent company, Seiko Epson Corporation, adding: “We are deeply grateful to our parent company, Seiko Epson Corporation, for its continued support through providing world-class products and technology. This support has enabled us to serve customers in New Zealand with confidence, helping them overcome challenges and improve quality of life.” Paul Stainton, General Manager of Epson New Zealand, described the new offices and experience centre as both a recognition of the company’s achievements and a platform for its next phase of growth. “We are very proud of our collective achievements and success over the last 40 years. I want to thank all Epson staff, past and present, as well as our channel partners and customers, for contributing to this shared success. With our new Freemans Bay offices and experience centre, we are focused on the next 40 years in Aotearoa, driving continued growth through innovative products and services that make a positive impact on the lives of our customers, their businesses and their communities.” The anniversary event brought together elements of Japanese food and art with wines from Waiheke Island’s Jasper Ridge Estate, reflecting the connections between New Zealand and Japan through local craftsmanship, creativity and hospitality. With its new Auckland facility, Epson New Zealand is positioning hands-on technology demonstrations and customer engagement as part of its continued development across the country’s consumer, commercial and industrial markets.
