AUSTRALIA: Hilltop Hoods took their Never Coming Home Tour to sold-out arenas across Australia in 2026, with a large-format VuePix Infiled Black Widow AMT 7.8mm LED system forming the visual centrepiece. Supplied by HTH Touring, the LED system was deployed across major venues including Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena, Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena and Perth’s RAC Arena.

The production’s video design was developed collaboratively by Brad Hurle, Founder and Managing Director of Diverse Audio Visual Events, and Hilltop Hoods’ Lighting Designer, Pauly Owen. Working with HTH Touring, the team integrated LED, lighting, cameras and media playback into a unified visual workflow. HTH Touring also supplied the complete camera and vision switching system, feeding directly into the media server controlling the video canvas.

At the centre of the design was the VuePix Infiled Black Widow AMT 7.8mm. Its lightweight transparent mesh construction allowed lighting effects to pass through the LED surface, enabling video and lighting to operate as integrated elements of the stage design. The touring-oriented system was also selected to meet the installation, durability and efficiency requirements of a national arena schedule.

The complete LED canvas carried both pre-produced content and live camera feeds, with the video system running on timecode throughout the performance. This allowed video, lighting and the live show to remain synchronised while retaining the flexibility required during the production.

“The creative vision for the show was developed alongside Hilltop Hoods’ Lighting Designer, Pauly Owen, who had a clear direction for how the production should look and feel, while our role at Diverse Audio Visual Events was to design and deliver the complete video workflow that brought that vision to life,” said Hurle.

“From the LED system and media playback through to the camera infrastructure and switching, every element had to work together as a single integrated platform. HTH Touring played a huge role in making that happen, particularly Shannon Barreau, whose support throughout the project was invaluable. The camera system fed directly into the media server, allowing us to combine live vision with the content across a unified 4K canvas. It was a genuine team effort, and that’s what made the production so successful.”

The result was a unified 4K visual environment capable of shifting between cinematic content and live imagery while maintaining precise timing with the wider production. For a national arena tour operating at scale, the combination of LED, camera and media infrastructure provided the visual system with the flexibility to move between creative content and live performance without breaking the continuity of the stage design.
