Meyer Sound Unleashes TIGRA in India Knowledge Hub Latest News by Elton - October 29, 2026October 28, 2026 INDIA: Sun Infonet , Meyer Sound’s authorised distributor in India, introduced the manufacturer’s TIGRA line array to the country’s professional audio industry at a launch event in New Delhi on 31 August 2026, bringing together rental company owners and audio engineers for a demonstration of the new system. First previewed at NAMM Show in January 2026, TIGRA extends Meyer Sound’s line array portfolio with a compact solution designed for applications that require high output and controlled performance without the scale of the flagship PANTHER system. “TIGRA is about a continuation of what Meyer Sound has started with PANTHER,” said Neeraj Chandra, Director of Sun Infonet, positioning the new system for smaller festival stages, houses of worship, theatres and convention centres. The launch focused on the requirements of these venues, where performance, operational simplicity and reliability remain central to system selection. The evening’s demonstration featured Rohit Kulkarni’s band Flipside, whose set moved between classic rock and Bollywood favourites. Paired with flown 2100-LFC subwoofers, TIGRA delivered consistent performance across changing musical styles and dynamics, demonstrating its ability to maintain clarity at varying playback levels. At the heart of TIGRA is a compact design capable of reaching 146dB maximum SPL, with 140.5dB AES75 linear output for the L model. The system incorporates controlled cardioid low-frequency performance, building on the approach established by PANTHER, while onboard GEN-1 processing integrates Galileo GALAXY DSP directly into the loudspeaker. This reduces reliance on external processing hardware, potentially simplifying system deployment across a wider range of applications. The launch also featured Bollywood composer Salim Merchant as guest of honour, who joined Flipside on stage, adding a live performance dimension to the product demonstration. The appearance came amid Sun Infonet’s partnership with Salim-Sulaiman’s Bhoomi Project 2026, the independent musical movement curated by the duo. Meyer Sound and Shure, both distributed in India by Sun Infonet, serve as official audio partners for the project. “I love what Meyer Sound is innovating for the live audio industry globally,” Merchant said. “Our collaboration with Neeraj and the Sun Infonet team on Bhoomi 2026 has genuinely raised the bar for performance and production. Hearing the Meyer Leopards on the Bhoomi production set was a wow moment, and now, hearing TIGRA, I’m just as impressed. The clarity, the precision, and the tightness of these boxes speaks for itself. I’d love to perform on Meyer Sound again, knowing I have the full support of the Sun Infonet team – they’re simply the best in the industry.” Sun Infonet’s application and marketing teams were central to delivering the launch, with Kallol Nath (General Manager–Application), Jeremy Rana (General Manager–Application Pro), Jonathan James (Application Engineer), and Hemant Gaba (General Manager–Marketing) overseeing the preparations and execution. For Nath, the launch marked another milestone in the distributor’s work with Meyer Sound, following his involvement in the Indian launch of PANTHER in 2024. “I was part of the PANTHER launch back in 2024 in India, and now playing at the forefront for the TIGRA launch was a personal and professional journey for me at Sun Infonet,” he said. “People have heard TIGRA, and now they would look forward to hearing it during season time in India. We at Sun Infonet believe that after-sales support and promotional activities would be a strong factor in making TIGRA part of top acts’ tech riders.” Share on Facebook Share Share on TwitterTweet Share on Pinterest Share Share on LinkedIn Share Share on Digg Share
