d&b audiotechnik Korea Rebrands as ECHTEC Korea

KOREA: d&b audiotechnik Korea has changed its company name to ECHTEC Korea, introducing a new corporate identity while retaining its role as the German manufacturer’s official distributor in South Korea. Effective immediately, the newly named company will continue under the leadership of CEO Daniel Kim, with the existing team, expertise and customer relationships carried forward after almost three decades in the Korean market.

ECHTEC Korea will continue to supply d&b audiotechnik products while providing systems design, training, demonstrations, installation assistance, technical support and after-sales service. The company’s new identity therefore represents a change in corporate name rather than a break from its established relationship with d&b audiotechnik.

“I take the 30 years of dedication and hard work of d&b audiotechnik Korea very seriously,” commented Kim. “Moving forward, I want ECHTEC Korea to engage with customers in a more personal, sincere and authentic way.”

Kim joined d&b audiotechnik Korea in 2013, initially serving as a team leader before becoming senior managing director. His background spans architectural design, acoustics and music, as well as systems integration, technical training and the development and operation of cultural and performance venues.

During his tenure, Kim has overseen d&b installations at Busan Concert Hall, Busan Asiad Main Stadium, Everland, Manna Church and the National Intangible Heritage Center. His experience also extends to Soundscape operation and content creation.

“We will build on what we do best, while responding quickly and decisively where we need to change,” continued Kim. “Our ambition is to maintain the high standards established over the past three decades, raise them further and play a pioneering role in the Korean market.”

For ECHTEC Korea, the next chapter is therefore built around continuity, with the company retaining its d&b audiotechnik distribution responsibilities while seeking to strengthen customer engagement and its service offering. The rebrand also places Kim and his team at the centre of the company’s plans to build further on d&b audiotechnik’s established presence in South Korea.
