INDIA: Malwanchal University in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, deployed a Martin Audio sound reinforcement system for its 5th Convocation Ceremony, ensuring clear and consistent audio coverage for one of the institution’s most significant annual events.

Part of Central India’s largest medical education group, Malwanchal University is spread across a 65-acre campus and serves a student community of more than 11,000. Held in April 2026, the University’s flagship convocation ceremony, organised in association with the Index Group of Institutions, brought together graduating students, faculty members, dignitaries and invited guests for the formal conferring of degrees and recognition of academic achievements.

To meet the demands of the large-scale event, Indore-based rental company Patel DJ Sound supplied a Martin Audio system centred on TORUS T1215 constant curvature array elements, complemented by Blackline X218 subwoofers.

Hosted in the University’s Central Auditorium, which accommodates up to 2,000 attendees, the sound system featured two flown arrays, each comprising four TORUS T1215 elements. Designed to bridge the gap between traditional line arrays and point-source loudspeakers, the TORUS system delivered controlled coverage, high output and consistent vocal intelligibility throughout the venue. Low-frequency reinforcement was provided by Martin Audio Blackline X218 subwoofers, adding depth while maintaining the clarity required for speech-focused programme material.
