Christie Dazzles with Immersive ‘Ocean of Light’ at Taipei’s Xpark Aquarium Install Knowledge Hub Latest by Elton - June 30, 2025 Christie’s laser projectors and Pandoras Box drive a bold digital evolution in aquarium storytelling. Christie projection and media playback technologies are at the heart of “Xpark meets NAKED – Ocean of Light: Immersive Ocean,” a new, large-scale exhibition unveiled at Taipei’s Xpark Aquarium. Launched as part of Xpark’s fifth anniversary celebrations, the immersive showcase blends real marine life with striking digital artistry to redefine the aquarium experience. The exhibit, developed by renowned Japanese creative studio NAKED, INC., transforms the aquatic environment into a multi-sensory odyssey using powerful visuals, interactive storytelling, and state-of-the-art projection mapping. This mesmerizing attraction seamlessly fuses real marine life with digital art from the “NAKED OCEAN” series to create an immersive, multi-sensory journey. Combining oceanic projections, interactive displays, and rich visual storytelling, the exhibition reimagines the ocean as a living canvas—where nature, creativity, and technology come together to inspire awe and reflection. It marks the second collaboration between NAKED, INC. and Xpark following the success of their 2025 limited-run “Sea of Light Jellyfish” experience. Among the highlights are vivid projections on the curved walls that deliver a sense of immersion Christie’s longstanding regional partner Dacoms Technology spearheaded the projection and integration for the latest installation. The team deployed 15 units of the Christie 1DLP laser projectors—including DWU960ST-iS units fitted with short-throw zoom lenses from the Inspire Series, and DWU880-GS models from the GS Series. 6 units of the Pandoras Box Servers support real-time content playback and visual synchronisation. ““Christie’s projection and content management solutions are once again the top choice for this project, not just because of their visual performance, but also for their dependability in challenging environments,” said Terence Lee, Executive Vice President, Dacoms Technology. “Xpark has used Christie solutions since its opening in 2020 and has always been impressed with their consistency. For this immersive showcase, Christie’s powerful, flexible solutions provided the confidence we needed to deliver a stunning and memorable experience.” Guests can explore dynamic marine environments and discover the ocean’s diversity and ecosystems The laser projectors cast vivid, lifelike visuals across curved walls and floor surfaces, immersing visitors in animated ocean environments filled with light, sound, and motion. This latest deployment adds to Xpark’s existing fleet of over 60 units of Christie projectors and 20 units of Pandoras Box, Compact Players, and Widget Designer systems installed since its 2020 opening. “We’re thrilled to see our technologies once again at the heart of such a forward-thinking exhibition,” said Jason Yeo, Senior Sales Manager, Southeast Asia and Taiwan, Christie. “The collaboration between Xpark and NAKED, INC. pushes the boundaries of digital storytelling and environmental awareness. With Christie laser projection and content management solutions, guests are fully transported into a mesmerizing underwater realm that is both visually spectacular and deeply meaningful.” Designed as immersive edutainment, Ocean of Light invites audiences of all ages to explore marine ecosystems and biodiversity through deeply engaging, sensory-rich encounters. Nearly 70% of the aquarium’s interior zones have been reimagined as part of this ambitious digital transformation. “Designed as immersive edutainment, this exhibition is more than just a visual feast,” added Lee. “It invites guests of all ages to explore the ocean’s diversity, ecosystems, and conservation challenges through all five senses. By combining real-world exhibits with digital art, ‘Ocean of Light: Immersive Ocean’ redefines what an aquarium experience can be.” Share on Facebook Share Share on TwitterTweet Share on Pinterest Share Share on LinkedIn Share Share on Digg Share
