CHINA: Christie has completed a major refurbishment of its Shanghai showroom, creating a 300-square-metre facility for product demonstrations, training, open-house events and application workshops for customers and partners across Eastern China and beyond.

The upgraded space is designed for hands-on evaluation of Christie’s projection technologies, with areas that can also be reconfigured for maintenance and servicing of various projector models. Its three main zones cover high-end projection, comparative product demonstrations and immersive multi-projector displays.

The first zone centres on the Christie Eclipse G3 projection system, with demonstrations comparing it directly with a conventional projector to highlight differences in black levels, colour depth and HDR performance. Eclipse G3 combines RGB pure laser illumination with Christie’s 6DLP architecture, native 4K resolution, up to 20,000,000:1 sequential contrast ratio and approximately 98% of the Rec. 2020 colour gamut. The system is positioned for immersive entertainment, themed attractions and advanced visualisation environments.

The second zone provides a flexible demonstration area covering Christie’s broader projector portfolio, including the Griffyn Series, M 4K RGB Series and 1DLP laser projectors from the Korus, Jazz and Inspire Series. Up to four projector models can be operated simultaneously, allowing visitors to compare brightness levels, resolutions and deployment scenarios.

The third zone moves into immersive projection, using a 3m-diameter hemispherical dome powered by four Korus Series projectors in a blended configuration. Christie Mystique automated alignment and calibration is used to install, align, calibrate and maintain the multi-projector display.

The facility also provides a permanent environment for technical exchange and face-to-face demonstrations. “The new showroom now provides our partners and customers with a permanent and convenient environment to explore Christie technologies,” said Gene Wang, Senior Director of ProAV Sales, China, Christie. “By showcasing real-world applications and facilitating face-to-face discussions, we aim to help customers understand how Christie projection solutions can support their projects and inspire new possibilities.”

The renovated showroom will support Christie’s activities across cultural tourism, themed entertainment, museums, experience centres, corporate spaces and large venues, while providing customers and partners with a dedicated environment to evaluate projection and immersive display technologies.
