Avolites Broadens Media Control Capabilities with Launch of Prism

Avolites has introduced Prism, a new media control platform designed to simplify the creation and management of dynamic visual content, making advanced media workflows more accessible to lighting designers, programmers and production teams.

Developed for both lighting and video professionals, Prism is designed to bridge the gap between lighting and media control by providing an intuitive, visual interface that enables users to incorporate video, screens and pixel-mapped fixtures into productions without the complexity traditionally associated with media programming.

The launch follows an extended early access programme and builds on Avolites’ long-standing expertise in integrated lighting and media control. Over the past 15 years, the company’s technology has been deployed across major live music productions, sporting events, broadcast projects and performances, including two Olympic opening ceremonies, as well as productions for Coldplay, Maluma, The Rio Hotel Las Vegas and The Script.

When integrated with the Avolites Titan lighting control platform through Synergy, Prism enables media control to become part of a unified show workflow, allowing lighting and media elements to be programmed and managed within the same production environment. Prism can also operate as a standalone media control platform, making it suitable for applications ranging from touring productions and live events to theatres, clubs, museums, galleries, attractions and permanent installations.

Among its key capabilities are a visual workflow interface, Titan integration through Synergy, pixel map adjustments, timecode triggering and a Media Manager supporting multiple media formats including HAP, NotchLC and DXV. Prism also incorporates AiM encoding for smoother high-resolution playback and 10-bit colour support, while offering adaptable surfaces, layers and regions, 17 blend modes, and output options including physical outputs, NDI and RTSP.

The platform is licensed through Avolites’ new AvoKey Collection and Travel Collection hardware, available in A1+, A2+, A3+, T1+, T2+ and T3 Bundle variants, with each version unlocking different numbers of display outputs based on production requirements. Avolites has also confirmed that DMX Pixels support will be introduced later this year, enabling users to control up to 4,096 pixels depending on the selected licence tier.

“With Prism, we wanted to make media control feel accessible without limiting what users can create,” said Jon Hole, Product and Marketing Manager at Avolites. “We know that more designers and operators are being asked to manage video, screens and pixel-mapped fixtures as part of the wider show, and we wanted to give them a clearer way to do that. Prism simplifies the process, while still giving users the creative control they need to build impressive visual results. Prism brings together a lot of what Avolites has learned from years of working in both lighting and media control and we’re excited to be making that available to a wider audience.”
