Modulo Pi Marks 15 Years with Immersive Anniversary Celebration Knowledge Hub Latest News by Elton - December 5, 2025December 5, 2025 GLOBAL: Modulo Pi commemorated its 15th anniversary on 19 November 2025 with an exclusive gathering at Atelier des Lumières in Paris, bringing together clients, distributors, creative partners, and long-standing collaborators. The evening served as both a celebration and a reflective milestone for the French media server manufacturer, highlighting its evolution from a small, engineering-driven startup to a recognised player powering immersive experiences worldwide. Founded in 2010 by engineer Yannick Kohn, Modulo Pi was built on a vision shaped by real-world demands and hands-on technical experience rather than outside investment. Speaking at the event, Kohn shared his early experience candidly: “The early days of Modulo Pi were all about passion, heads bursting with ideas, and countless hours of development — with no investors, simply driven by the desire to create a tool truly tailored to real-world field needs.” This philosophy led to the introduction of two flagship platforms: Modulo Player, launched in 2012 as a simple, reliable solution for day-to-day projects, and Modulo Kinetic, introduced in 2016 to meet the demands of large-scale, real-time, interactive workflows. Together, the two platforms have supported applications ranging from live events, fashion and corporate productions to museums, theme parks, and immersive environments. Today, Modulo Pi operates through a growing distribution network spanning Japan, China, the Benelux region, the United States and Canada, alongside direct operations in France. Its solutions have become widely adopted across the global AV and live entertainment markets. The anniversary celebration was hosted at Atelier des Lumières — a venue deeply connected with Modulo Pi’s journey and powered by 35 Modulo Kinetic servers driving 140 video projectors. Guests were invited to explore the space illuminated in Modulo Pi’s colours, revisit pivotal moments from the company’s development, and experience the immersive exhibition The Little Prince developed by Spectre Lab. Attendees also engaged with the new Kids’ Atelier — a 160 sqm interactive environment inaugurated in 2025, where visitors’ drawings are scanned and integrated into live projection content in real time using Modulo Kinetic’s latest capabilities. Throughout its growth, Modulo Pi has remained committed to maintaining direct ties with users and incorporating real-world feedback into product evolution — a defining part of its culture. Kohn reinforced this during the celebration, stating: “What I’m most proud of, in the end, is not just the technology. It’s the spirit we’ve managed to preserve: staying accessible, listening to real field needs, continuing to innovate based on our clients’ projects, and striving to remain simple, even on very complex setups.” The gathering not only reflected on a decade and a half of innovation, but also set the stage for Modulo Pi’s next chapter in immersive media processing and interactive visual technology.
