L-Acoustics X Series Brings Sonic Flexibility to Mami Rose Bangkok

In the heart of Bangkok’s upscale Emsphere complex, Mami Rose has redefined what it means to blend fine dining with high-energy entertainment. Designed with a retro-Miami aesthetic and seating for 100 guests, the venue’s ambition to serve as both a premium restaurant and a late-night DJ hotspot posed a distinct audio challenge—one that was expertly answered with a custom L-Acoustics X Series installation by Vision One.

“Mami Rose is a vibrant restaurant that blends fine dining with late-night entertainment,” said Akarat ‘Pete’ Thitipattakul, Business Development Manager at L-Acoustics Certified Partner Vision One. “Guests dining in the early evenings need conversational comfort while background music plays, and the entertainment programme later in the night features live DJs with occasional live saxophonists and percussionists, which demands full-energy electronic music support. Most venues sacrifice one experience for the other.”

The venue’s dual-purpose design required an audio solution capable of delivering clarity and nuance for intimate dining, while transforming effortlessly into a powerful system for DJ-driven dance nights. Vision One, having already collaborated with the ownership group on Pastel Rooftop Bar and the 6,000-capacity UOB Live venue—also within Emsphere—was entrusted to deliver a seamless solution tailored to Mami Rose’s unique operating rhythm.

Using Soundvision 3D modelling, Vision One devised a system centred on the L-Acoustics X Series. The setup features a main L/R pair of X8 loudspeakers aimed at seated guests in front of the DJ booth, complemented by another pair of X8 in a cross-stereo configuration covering the rear dining area. Low-end reinforcement is delivered via a single SB18 subwoofer discreetly positioned under the DJ booth, while compact 5XT coaxial speakers serve as mono fills. The entire system is powered by a single LA4X amplified controller, underscoring the efficiency and zone flexibility of the X Series within a tightly curated footprint.

This design met three key requirements: providing tailored coverage for multiple zones within the space, minimising audio spillover to nearby residential areas, and integrating discreetly into the venue’s refined interior.

The result, according to Thitipattakul, has been immediate; as restaurant staff have praised the system’s straightforward functionality and high-performance audio, while guests consistently enjoy the venue’s dual personality—balanced, articulate sound for quiet conversations and full-throttle energy for evening entertainment.

“The balanced sound experience guests love comes from the controlled directivity offered by X Series,” noted Thitipattakul. “Diners can converse comfortably with pristine background music, while the DJ entertainment segment of the night offers guests an energy-driven dance music experience. That’s exactly what Mami Rose’s business model requires.”

Vision One also conducted on-site training for restaurant personnel to ensure smooth operation and equip staff with basic troubleshooting skills. The venue’s management has expressed strong satisfaction with the final outcome—both in terms of sonic impact and ongoing support.
