Adamson and Allen & Heath Raise the Bar for BOA Club Phuket Install Knowledge Hub Latest News by Elton - August 17, 2026August 16, 2026 THAILAND: On Bangkok Road in Patong, Phuket, BOA Club Phuket has established a high-performance audio environment designed to deliver the impact and consistency expected of a premium house and techno venue. Designed and installed by Sonos Libra, the system combines Adamson IS Series loudspeakers with Allen & Heath AHM processing, creating a rider-ready platform capable of supporting DJs from the regional circuit through to international headliners. From the outset, BOA Phuket required a system capable of meeting international DJ riders without relying on additional rental equipment or last-minute modifications. Sonos Libra selected the Adamson IS Series Line Array as the main PA, supplemented by strategically positioned point-source loudspeakers to maintain consistent coverage across the main dance floor, DJ-side seating, VIP areas and upper balcony. Adamson loudspeakers were also specified for DJ monitoring to maintain a consistent sonic character throughout the system. The main PA comprises four IS10 cabinets per side, while low-frequency reinforcement is provided by two IS219 units installed beneath the DJ booth. Two IS7C units are mounted beneath the booth, above the subwoofers, serving as front fill for the front dance floor. On the upper balcony, two IS7PX units provide delay coverage for VIP seating. The centrally positioned DJ booth created an additional challenge, with VIP seating located behind the DJ requiring dedicated rear coverage. Sonos Libra addressed this with an IS10P on each side combined with an IS7PX on each side for back-fill delay, alongside an IS119 subwoofer flown on each side behind the IS10 main arrays. The venue also adopted an unconventional approach to DJ monitoring. Rather than using M Series monitors, BOA Phuket selected the Adamson IS7PXW following extensive listening tests. Its dipole pattern design and dual-driver configuration were identified as providing the dispersion and precision required by the DJs, leading the owner to select the model for the installation. Achieving consistent coverage was particularly important given the club’s centrally positioned DJ booth and surrounding tiered seating. Sonos Libra used Blueprint software during the design phase to simulate the acoustic behaviour of the system and determine speaker quantities, positioning and aiming angles. “We used Blueprint software to calculate and simulate sound coverage in detail—determining the number of speakers, their positions, and precise aiming angles to ensure consistent sound throughout the entire venue” shares Phoom, Sound Engineer from Sonos Libra who worked on the project. Acoustic considerations were also incorporated directly into the interior design. Deep green curtains lining the club’s walls provide acoustic absorption while complementing the dark-toned interior, deep-green velvet seating and copper-dominated lighting and graphic concept. The Adamson IS Series loudspeakers were integrated into this visual environment without compromising their intended acoustic performance. The loudspeakers are powered by Lab Gruppen D-Series amplifiers, while system control and signal management are handled by an Allen & Heath AHM32 matrix processor. The processing platform provides zoning and automated preset changes, allowing the system to adapt to different operating hours and maintain appropriate sound levels and tonal balance with minimal user intervention. The resulting system gives BOA Club Phuket a combination of consistent coverage, high-output performance and operational flexibility, while providing the rider-ready infrastructure required to accommodate visiting DJs. For a venue positioned among Phuket’s premium nightlife destinations, the installation puts sound reinforcement at the centre of the overall experience rather than treating it as an afterthought.
