L-Acoustics L-ISA Powers ‘The Next Singer’ with Precision and Immersive Impact

Fresh off the record-breaking triumph of Singer 2024, Hunan TV has raised the bar once more with The Next Singer—a high-stakes qualifying contest that sets the stage for Singer 2025. With a blend of returning international stars like Faouzia Ouihya and Chanté Moore, and powerhouse Chinese vocalists including Na Ying and Wang Feng, the series continues to elevate its hallmark of authentic, world-class vocal artistry. And at the core of this sonic spectacle lies the unmatched immersive power of L-Acoustics https://www.l-acoustics.com/ L-ISA technology.

True to the show’s mantra—“What you hear is what you see”—The Next Singer delivers a pristine and emotionally resonant listening experience to every seat in the 2,000-capacity Hunan TV studio. Thanks to a meticulously designed L-ISA configuration deployed by Beijing Dadong Huahan Audio Visual Equipment Co., Ltd, and supported by L-Acoustics Certified Provider Distributor Rightway Audio Consultants (RAC)  https://www.racpro.net/ the studio now echoes with a level of sonic precision typically reserved for high-end concert venues.

The L-ISA scene system features a trio of six K2 enclosures flown centre stage, flanked by two hangs of eight Kudo cabinets per side. Bass support comes from three arrays of four KS28 subs, flown directly behind the central K2 cluster to preserve visual lines and maintain full-frequency consistency.

“K2’s advanced rigging accessories allow our technical teams to deploy the system efficiently,” explains Li Wenxi, Senior System Engineer from RAC. “The variable curvature adjustments enable us to precisely target sound to each section of the studio audience seating areas while the Panflex horizontal directivity technology helps us avoid unwanted reflections from the studio’s metallic set design elements, which was a critical consideration in maintaining audio clarity throughout the performance space.”

Drawing from the lessons of Singer 2024, which racked up over 230 million views and ignited discussions around the power of live performance, the production team has fine-tuned their approach to immersive audio deployment. That refinement is most palpable in the show’s ability to place vocal and instrumental elements in a spatial mix with razor-sharp clarity and dramatic realism.

“Immersive audio has become an essential component of our production strategy,” notes He Biao, the show’s Sound System Director. “The ability to precisely place vocal and instrumental elements within a three-dimensional soundscape dramatically enhances the audience’s ability to distinguish subtle nuances in each performance—a crucial factor when evaluating contestants in a competition centred on vocal excellence.”
