CODA Audio Unveils APSi-Pro for High-Performance Fixed Installations

CODA Audio has expanded its installation portfolio with the introduction of APSi-Pro, a purpose-built high-output progressive line source platform engineered specifically for permanent installation applications requiring predictable coverage, high sound pressure levels and cost-efficient deployment. Developed for venues including stadiums, indoor sports arenas, nightclubs and other fixed entertainment environments, APSi-Pro adapts the proven acoustic performance of the company’s touring-focused APS-Pro Series into a platform optimised for long-term installed applications.

The new system was developed in response to growing demand from system integrators who had successfully deployed APS-Pro in permanent installations and sought an installation-specific version without the additional hardware associated with touring applications. APSi-Pro retains the acoustic characteristics of its touring counterpart while offering a lighter, cleaner and more cost-effective design, complemented by flexible weather-protection options ranging from durable outdoor finishes to full marine-grade treatment, alongside custom colour finishes to suit architectural requirements.

Rather than centring the platform around a single loudspeaker enclosure, APSi-Pro adopts a modular system-block approach, allowing arrays to be tailored to the specific coverage requirements of each venue. The platform comprises APSi-Pro-D and APSi-Pro-S elements, providing 10° and 30° vertical coverage respectively. By combining these predictable building blocks into curved line source arrays, system designers can achieve precise coverage and consistent sonic performance while simplifying transportation, rigging and project budgeting. The platform also supports horizontal array configurations, enabling coverage patterns to be defined using the same modular approach.

Directivity control is achieved through CODA Audio’s magnetic Instafit APS-Couplers, which combine the loudspeaker’s acoustic elements into a single pattern-controlled wavefront. Depending on deployment, horizontal or vertical coverage can be configured for 60°, 90° or 120°, while asymmetrical dispersion options of 75°, 90°, 100° and 105° can be realised through alternative Instafit coupler configurations. Low-frequency extension is provided by the dedicated APSi-SUB, allowing complete systems to be configured according to individual project requirements.

Installation flexibility is further enhanced through a pair of universal fixing plates supplied with every APSi loudspeaker. These form the basis of the platform’s modular mounting concept, enabling any APSi enclosure to be securely connected to another APSi element or directly to the flying frame without requiring bespoke hardware. The approach supports a wide variety of system configurations, from compact two-cabinet point-source clusters and mixed-angle arrays to complete systems incorporating APSi-SUB enclosures.

For projects requiring simplified servicing and maintenance, CODA Audio also offers the Array Keeper (AK), an optional metal frame available in multiple sizes that secures APSi loudspeakers and subwoofers within a single structure. The design enables individual loudspeaker elements to be removed for servicing without disturbing, disconnecting or re-rigging the remainder of the flown array, addressing one of the key maintenance challenges associated with permanently installed line array systems.

APSi-Pro also incorporates the core technologies of the APS-Pro platform, including dual 10-inch low-frequency drivers mounted on CODA Audio’s aluminium Dynamic Airflow Cooling (DAC) baffle. The DAC design improves heat dissipation, enabling greater power handling, increased low-frequency headroom and reduced power compression during sustained high-output operation. Each cabinet delivers an AES power rating of 1,400W, a peak output of 144dB (A-weighted) and low-frequency extension to 50Hz (-6dB), all within a compact enclosure weighing 27kg, making APSi-Pro well suited to demanding fixed installation environments where performance, flexibility and long-term reliability are paramount.
