CHINA: NEXO’s ePS Series loudspeakers have been deployed at Phantom Billiards in Changzhou, China, where a distributed audio system has been installed to complement what is claimed to be the world’s largest billiards club dedicated exclusively to Joe’s tables.

Recently opened in Changzhou, the 7,000-square-metre venue features 115 Joe’s billiards tables alongside a reception area, lobby, VIP facilities and a large public playing hall. With billiards continuing to enjoy significant popularity across China, the venue was designed to offer visitors a premium entertainment experience extending beyond the playing environment.

To support this objective, the club’s owners commissioned Shanghai Haoyun to design and install a professional sound reinforcement system capable of delivering consistent, high-quality audio throughout the expansive facility.

“For the industry benchmark Phantom Billiards, the sound reinforcement system is not an accessory in the background, but a core experience component that shapes the overall atmosphere, inspires the competitive spirit and serves high-end customers,” explained Alvin Lu, Sales and Marketing Manager at Shanghai Haoyun.

The installed system comprises 34 NEXO ePS12 point source loudspeakers distributed throughout the venue and powered by four NEXO NXAMP4X2 powered controllers, with two loudspeakers assigned to each amplifier channel. Based on NEXO’s PS platform, the ePS Series was selected for its controlled coverage, dynamic performance and suitability for commercial installation environments.

System control is provided by a Yamaha DM3 compact digital mixer, offering venue staff an intuitive interface for day-to-day operation while supporting the flexibility required across the club’s various spaces.

According to Shanghai Haoyun, the distributed loudspeaker design ensures consistent sound quality from the entrance and reception areas through to the lobby and main playing hall, creating a cohesive audio environment throughout the venue.
