Greg Mackie and Peter Watts Partner to Launch M&W Pro Audio Knowledge Hub Latest News by Elton - July 3, 2026June 28, 2026 GLOBAL: M&W Pro Audio, founded by industry veterans Greg Mackie and British audio engineer Peter Watts, made its public debut at InfoComm 2026 in Las Vegas; as the manufacturer unveiled its first products — the D24 and D32 digital mixing consoles — marking its entry into the live sound sector. M&W Pro Audio combines Greg Mackie’s extensive experience in professional audio product development with Peter Watts’ decades-long expertise in analogue and digital console design. Watts began his career at Trident Consoles in London before serving as Head of Research and Development at Trident Audio Developments from 1976 to 1995, where he played a key role in the development of professional mixing technologies. According to the company, the launch follows five years of research and development focused on creating a new generation of digital mixing consoles built around advanced DSP processing, touchscreen-based operation and proprietary microphone preamplifier technology. The inaugural D24 and D32 consoles have been designed for a broad range of live sound applications, including houses of worship, theatres, concert touring, corporate AV and nightclub installations. Rather than relying on large numbers of conventional hardware controls, both consoles feature large-format touchscreens that provide direct access to channel processing, routing and system management functions. M&W Pro Audio says this touchscreen-centric architecture has been developed to enhance workflow, improve operational flexibility and provide greater visual feedback than traditional digital console interfaces. The software-driven platform has also been designed to accommodate future feature enhancements through ongoing software updates. Among the consoles’ distinguishing technologies is Watts’ newly developed Lyric microphone preamp, which incorporates a quad-matched, parallel input balanced input stage. The D24 and D32 also employ touch-based glass faders intended to eliminate the mechanical wear associated with conventional motorised fader systems. “I’ve never stopped gathering ideas about how to make live mixing easier,” said Mackie. “The D24 and D32 are the culmination of decades of sound experience and four solid years of translating my ideas into a more intuitive, easier workflow. My goal was to create a touch screen mixer ‘done right’. We believe we have accomplished this, but it took years of design, review, redesign and final design. The electronic control surfaces found on the D24 and D32 gave us opportunities that are simply not possible with physical faders or designs which employ small display screens.” Watts added: “I am excited to rejoin Greg Mackie as his partner in this promising new venture. It has given me a chance to unveil a microphone preamp design that I feel is a step above any currently incorporated in other mixers. I also believe that our collaboration on the D24 and D32 GUI and workflow has set a new standard for ease of use that, I’m confident, will open numerous creative opportunities for our clientele.” The D24 and D32 digital mixing consoles are expected to become commercially available in late 2026, representing the first products from M&W Pro Audio as the company establishes its presence in the global professional audio industry.
