HK Audio has expanded its professional audio portfolio with the simultaneous introduction of the new LUNAR loudspeaker series and PORTABLE SUB subwoofer family, delivering a cohesive sound reinforcement ecosystem designed to combine high performance, operational simplicity and flexible deployment.

The launch brings together two independently developed product families that have been engineered to work seamlessly both as standalone solutions and as an integrated system. While each series addresses specific professional audio requirements in its own right, the combination of LUNAR and PORTABLE SUB is intended to provide users with a powerful, scalable and intuitive sound reinforcement platform.

The LUNAR series comprises three active loudspeakers featuring 10-inch, 12-inch and 15-inch woofers respectively. Designed for applications ranging from DJ performances and live music to professional PA deployments, the systems can be deployed as full-range loudspeakers, stage monitors or as mid/high units paired with subwoofers from the PORTABLE SUB family.

Central to the LUNAR concept is a streamlined operating philosophy aimed at reducing setup complexity while maintaining professional-grade performance. Predefined presets provide immediate access to optimised settings for applications including music playback, monitor duties and speech reinforcement, enabling users to achieve consistent results without extensive configuration.

The loudspeakers are powered by a 32-bit DSP featuring FIR filtering and phase correction, delivering precise and dynamic audio reproduction with substantial impact even at elevated sound pressure levels. Connectivity options include Bluetooth True Wireless Stereo, allowing straightforward integration of a wide range of audio sources.

Manufactured in Germany, the LUNAR series combines robust wooden cabinet construction with a clean, contemporary design, while an extended five-year manufacturer’s warranty further reinforces its professional positioning.

Complementing the new loudspeaker range, HK Audio has also introduced the PORTABLE SUB family, comprising 15-inch and 18-inch subwoofers designed to provide a powerful and controlled low-frequency foundation for modern sound reinforcement systems.

While developed as the natural low-frequency extension for LUNAR, the PORTABLE SUB models have also been optimised for use with HK Audio’s POLAR MK2 and SONAR systems, offering users broad compatibility across the manufacturer’s ecosystem.

The series incorporates a dedicated preset architecture that enables phase-aligned integration with various HK Audio loudspeaker systems at the touch of a button. A general-purpose preset additionally allows the subwoofers to be paired with loudspeakers from other manufacturers, expanding deployment flexibility.

Delivering up to 1,400 W of peak power and a maximum sound pressure level of 131 dB, the PORTABLE SUB models are engineered to provide powerful and well-defined bass performance. Integrated DSP processing ensures precise impulse response and reliable operation even under demanding conditions and at high output levels.

Additional features include an integrated stereo preamp for straightforward 2.1 system configurations, alongside flexible connectivity options and practical user controls designed to simplify everyday operation.

Like the LUNAR series, the PORTABLE SUB family is manufactured in Germany and reflects HK Audio’s focus on build quality, reliability and long-term durability. Together, the two new product ranges represent a unified approach to professional sound reinforcement, offering users a straightforward path to scalable, high-performance audio systems without compromising ease of use.
