Hujan Elevates Live Performance Precision with Sennheiser Spectera at Atas Angin Festival 2026 Knowledge Hub Latest Live News by Elton - April 1, 2026March 31, 2026 MALAYSIA: Formed in 2005, Malaysian alternative rock band Hujan has steadily evolved into one of the country’s most influential contemporary acts, driven by melodic songwriting, emotive lyricism, and an unmistakable on-stage energy. Fronted by Noh Salleh, the band’s enduring connection with its audience places a premium on sonic precision and system reliability—factors that have now been significantly redefined through the adoption of Sennheiser’s Spectera wideband wireless ecosystem. At the recent Atas Angin Festival 2026 in February, Hujan once again deployed Spectera as the backbone of its live production workflow, reinforcing its role as a unifying platform across musicians, engineers, and crew. Since its introduction into the band’s touring setup in 2025, the system has transitioned from a strategic investment to a central pillar of operational cohesion. Hujan’s Spectera journey began at Rock In The Jungle 2.0 at Sarawak Cultural Village in August 2025, where approximately 4,000 fans witnessed the band’s first move away from rental-based in-ear monitoring systems towards a fully integrated wideband RF environment. For years, the band had relied on renting Sennheiser’s IEM G4 systems, but the need for greater control, clarity, and scalability prompted band manager Ariffin “Epain” Ahmad to explore a long-term solution. Following a demonstration arranged by the Sennheiser team, the shift in perspective was immediate. “From the very first demo, we knew Spectera was operating on a different level,” says Epain. “The setup was intuitive, the audio refined, and the system felt future-ready. Our decision was strengthened by the trust we have in Sennheiser and Acoustic & Lighting System, particularly their technical support.” Hujan subsequently invested in a complete Spectera setup comprising a Base Station, two DAD antennas, and 12 SEK bodypacks, deployed across the entire production ecosystem. Four units serve the band members, two support sessionists, one each is assigned to monitor engineer Zunnun Zolaznan and RF engineer Amir Shah, while the remaining four are utilised by the band’s crew—effectively bringing all stakeholders into a single coordinated RF network. Guitarist AG Coco adds, “The clarity was striking. Every element in the mix felt defined yet natural. RF performance was rock solid, letting us focus purely on the music.” At Rock In The Jungle 2.0, the system transmitted audio and control signals through a single wideband RF channel, eliminating the complexity of managing multiple narrowband frequencies. “Managing one wideband channel reduces complexity and frees us to focus on optimisation rather than troubleshooting,” explains RF engineer Amir Shah. “Even with all users active across stage and backstage, oversight remained straightforward.” The deployment was further supported by Acoustic & Lighting System, which provided an additional antenna and spare SEKs for redundancy, ensuring operational resilience while maintaining a streamlined and portable configuration. A defining feature of Spectera within Hujan’s workflow is its real-time system visibility. Using the Spectera WebUI interface, the team continuously monitors battery status, temperature, RF performance, and audio integrity across all connected devices. “That level of transparency gives us complete control,” Amir adds. “Whether a musician on stage or a crew member offstage, we can see exactly what is happening at any moment.” This level of consistency carried through to Atas Angin Festival 2026, where the same wideband configuration delivered stable and predictable performance across a different live environment, reinforcing confidence in the system’s adaptability. Monitor engineer Zunnun Zolaznan recalls the immediate impact from the first soundcheck. “The sound was open, clear, and highly detailed. Since the signal path is so clean, I don’t need heavy processing to create separation. The result is a more organic and transparent mix,” he says. He also highlights the system’s ability to reproduce ambience with realism and depth. “The ambience sounds natural and spacious. It’s not just a loud, generic sound; it’s detailed and clear,” Zunnun explains. “That sense of depth enhances the band’s connection to the crowd.” Operationally, the shift to a unified RF environment has simplified oversight while improving reliability. “Managing a single RF channel for all users makes oversight much easier. Throughout the show, performance was flawless,” Zunnun adds. “This confidence transforms the entire production,” Epain notes. “Artists and technicians can hear every nuance clearly. The assurance that the system will remain stable removes a significant layer of stress. Sennheiser’s support was professional and comprehensive, making the transition seamless.” FOH engineer Ahmad Syafiq underscores the broader production impact. “What stood out immediately was how quickly the system could be deployed and how expansive the soundstage felt. In terms of audio integrity, RF stability, and deployment speed, it surpassed everything else we evaluated,” he says. Although in-ear monitoring does not directly alter the FOH mix, its influence is tangible. “When the band performs with confidence and precision, it elevates the entire show. The performance feels tighter and more refined for the audience. The WebUI provides an impressive depth of information for RF management, streamlining workflow across all connected SEKs,” he adds. Looking ahead, Hujan remains firmly committed to the platform. “We intend to continue building our shows around Spectera. The Sennheiser team and Acoustic & Lighting System have been invaluable partners for a product that represents a major technological advancement,” Syafiq adds. From its debut at Rock In The Jungle 2.0 to its commanding presence at Atas Angin Festival 2026, Spectera has established itself as an essential component of Hujan’s live production ecosystem—delivering enhanced clarity, simplified RF coordination, and a level of operational confidence that now defines the band’s approach to modern touring.
