VIETNAM: M Suite, a karaoke television (KTV) venue in Ho Chi Minh City, has installed JBL Professional sound systems tailored to four room types, from compact private spaces to a larger Signature Room. Working with distributor Phuc Giang PGI, the venue adopted JBL Professional EON700 Series systems in its Small, Medium and Large Rooms, with the PRX Series providing greater performance capability in the Signature Room.

The design addresses a central challenge in karaoke: delivering the impact of music playback without compromising vocal clarity. As room dimensions increase, the system must also provide sufficient output, consistent coverage and low-frequency reinforcement across a larger listening area.

“The new M Suite location was looking to elevate its karaoke experience with a more powerful and engaging sound system,” said Mr. An, M Suite Project Manager. “After evaluating solutions from several brands and receiving consultation from the PGI team, M Suite selected JBL Professional for its dynamic sound performance, vocal clarity and ability to deliver an immersive karaoke experience.”

In the Small Rooms, two JBL Professional EON712 powered loudspeakers work with one EON718S powered subwoofer, providing full-range coverage and dedicated bass reinforcement in a compact configuration.

The Medium Rooms retain two EON712 loudspeakers but add two EON710 powered loudspeakers positioned to extend coverage towards the rear. A single EON718S subwoofer supplies low-frequency reinforcement, allowing the system to accommodate the longer room layout without changing the underlying loudspeaker platform.

For the Large Rooms, PGI specified six EON712 loudspeakers and two EON718S subwoofers. The additional loudspeakers increase output and coverage across the larger listening area, while the second subwoofer provides greater low-frequency capability for music playback and karaoke.

The Signature Room represents a step up in system scale and configuration. Six JBL Professional PRX915 powered loudspeakers are arranged in a surround configuration, supported by four PRX918XLF powered subwoofers. A Soundcraft mixer provides mixing for the room’s audio system. The PRX Series configuration is designed to meet the demands of the venue’s largest space while retaining the active-loudspeaker approach used throughout the installation.

This progression from EON700 to PRX Series systems allows the configuration to reflect each room’s dimensions and performance requirements, rather than applying a single specification throughout the venue. Integrated amplification also simplifies the deployment approach across systems ranging from two full-range loudspeakers and one subwoofer to the Signature Room’s larger surround arrangement.

According to Mr. Khang of PGI Pro Audio’s Product Division, the installation marked PGI’s first use of JBL Professional active loudspeaker systems for a KTV project. The deployment gave the company an opportunity to apply the scalability of the EON700 and PRX Series in a venue where room size and expected performance vary significantly.

That approach provided the vocal clarity, coverage, output and low-frequency performance needed across the venue’s different karaoke environments.”

With each configuration matched to its intended space, M Suite combines a consistent JBL Professional platform with room-specific system design. The result is a graduated approach to karaoke sound, scaling loudspeaker coverage, output and bass reinforcement as the venue moves from smaller private rooms to its larger Signature Room.
