inMusic Expands Technology Portfolio Through Native Instruments Acquisition

GLOBAL: inMusic has significantly expanded its footprint within the global music technology sector through the acquisition of Native Instruments, bringing one of the industry’s most influential software and production technology developers into a portfolio that already includes brands such as Akai Professional, Denon DJ, Numark, M-Audio, and Moog Music.

The deal also incorporates audio software companies iZotope, Plugin Alliance, and Brainworx, further strengthening inMusic’s presence across music production, audio processing, DJ performance, mixing, and mastering technologies. Together, the acquisition creates one of the most comprehensive ecosystems in modern music creation, spanning hardware, software, live performance tools, studio production platforms, and audio engineering solutions.

Native Instruments is widely recognised for platforms including Kontakt and Traktor, alongside a broader catalogue of software instruments, DJ systems, production tools, and creative workflows used extensively across studio, live, and broadcast applications. According to both companies, the acquisition builds upon an already established working relationship that previously included integrations involving Akai Professional and M-Audio products.

“Native Instruments represents everything we look for in a partner: exceptional products, a deeply engaged community and a clear point of view on what musicians want,” said inMusic CEO Jack O’Donnell. “Bringing these platforms together allows us to move faster, deepen integration and build better tools for creators.”

The acquisition arrives during a pivotal period for Native Instruments, which recently entered restructuring proceedings while seeking new ownership and investment opportunities aimed at stabilising and strengthening the company’s long-term position within the music technology market.

Nick Williams, CEO of Native Instruments, described the agreement as “the beginning of a new chapter” for the company, while confirming that Native Instruments, iZotope, Plugin Alliance, and Brainworx would continue operating under the new ownership structure.

Financial details surrounding the transaction have not been disclosed.
