Hi-Tech Audio & Image Brings L-Acoustics L-ISA Training to India Knowledge Hub Latest News by Elton - October 19, 2026October 14, 2026 INDIA: L-Acoustics and its Indian distribution partner Hi-Tech Audio & Image held the first L-ISA Technology Training programme in India in New Delhi on 7–8 October 2026, bringing system engineers, sound engineers and other live audio professionals together for two days of technical instruction and practical learning focused on immersive sound. Led by Adriaan van der Walt, L-ISA & Immersive Audio Engineer at L-Acoustics, the programme progressed from the principles of immersive audio to the design, deployment and operation of L-ISA loudspeaker systems. It followed earlier L-Acoustics training initiatives in India, extending opportunities for local professionals to engage with the manufacturer’s immersive-audio technology and workflows. The first day introduced L-ISA technology and the fundamentals of immersive listening, examining the differences between conventional stereo and immersive audio, alongside binaural listening and the principles underpinning spatial sound reproduction. Drawing on his experience as an immersive-certified system engineer and mixing engineer, van der Walt connected the technical concepts to professional production environments, illustrating the workflows and decisions involved in implementing immersive audio. Day two shifted to L-ISA loudspeaker system design and implementation. Guided exercises based on the L-Acoustics education platform took participants through key stages of system design, deployment and operation. Van der Walt supplemented the curriculum with examples from his own professional practice, demonstrating how design choices and implementation decisions influence system performance. Listening demonstrations using selected tracks provided an opportunity to experience the spatial characteristics of immersive audio, while sessions on system calibration addressed the processes required to achieve the intended performance. Together, the design exercises and listening sessions connected the underlying technology with the practical considerations of deploying and operating an immersive system. “Immersive audio offers an exciting way to rethink how sound can be presented and experienced. What I enjoyed about this training was the opportunity to explore the technology from different perspectives, moving from the fundamentals to system design and the listening experience. Sharing practical examples from my own work also allowed us to look at the considerations that come into play when bringing an immersive system to life,” said van der Walt. Rajan Gupta, Founder & CEO of Hi-Tech Audio & Image, asserted “India has a talented community of audio professionals, and continued exposure to evolving technologies and global working practices can help take that expertise further. During the L-ISA training, Adriaan shared practical insights from his own work as a system engineer, giving participants a better understanding of the thought process behind immersive system design and calibration. We hope these learnings encourage our engineers to explore new approaches and contribute to raising the standards of sound system engineering in India.” Nirdosh Aggarwal, Managing Partner at Hi-Tech Audio & Image, added “Introducing a technology like L-ISA involves more than understanding its features; it is about recognising where it can make a meaningful difference to a production. The training offered participants a closer look at the system, its capabilities and the technical considerations behind its implementation. This understanding is important as we work with customers and partners to explore solutions that align with their requirements and the evolving demands of the market.” Through training initiatives such as this, Hi-Tech Audio & Image aims to connect India’s professional audio community with specialist knowledge and expertise from the global industry, supporting a deeper understanding of emerging technologies and their application in live production.
