CHINA: Cinema audiences in Xinxiang, Henan Province are experiencing a new standard of movie presentation as Christie Digital Systems technology drives the city’s first all-Christie multiplex at the newly opened San Pang DL Mall. Developed by Chinese supermarket giant Pang Dong Lai, the new venue marks the retailer’s latest step into entertainment while reinforcing Christie’s footprint in premium cinema projection across China’s mainstream exhibition market.

Operating as Pang Dong Lai Xinxiang Cinema, the multiplex features four auditoriums with a combined capacity of 493 seats, all powered by Christie CineLife+ Series 2K and 4K laser projection systems. The installation includes CP4435-RGB and CP2420-RGB models equipped with Real|Laser illumination, alongside CP2411-RBe projectors featuring Phazer illumination, delivering a fully integrated laser-powered projection environment across the venue.

Since opening in late December 2025, the cinema has quickly established itself as a strong regional performer, ranking among the top ten highest-grossing daily box office venues across Henan Province’s more than 650 cinemas.

As Pang Dong Lai evaluated technology options for its first multiplex outside Xuchang, consistent performance and reliability across all auditoriums emerged as critical requirements. Christie’s CineLife+ Series projectors stood out for their colour reproduction, image accuracy and effective speckle control, attributes that play a vital role in delivering a premium cinema experience.

The new cinema also forms part of Pang Dong Lai’s broader integrated commercial ecosystem at San Pang DL Mall, where the cinema, supermarket and surrounding retail offerings together create a one-stop lifestyle destination. Known for its customer-focused retail philosophy, Pang Dong Lai aims to extend the same emphasis on quality and service into its cinema operations.

With Christie’s RGB pure laser and RBe projection systems in place, the cinema is able to maintain consistent image quality and visual fidelity across every auditorium, helping the venue meet the high standards associated with the Pang Dong Lai brand.
