CHINA: Italian pro audio manufacturer K-array continues to strengthen its reputation in China, with its systems increasingly favoured by professional integrators across diverse markets – from retail and restaurants to performance spaces and educational institutions. Known for marrying cutting-edge acoustic innovation with sleek, architectural-friendly design, K-array solutions are proving indispensable in some of the country’s most challenging projects.

One standout example lies in Guangzhou’s Song restaurant, where the sonic experience has been elevated into an art form. Here, K-array’s ultra-flat Vyper-KV52 II passive loudspeakers deliver refined, phase-coherent sound while blending into the serene Hunan dining environment. In private dining rooms, the ultra-mini Lyzard-KZ14 I micro-loudspeakers offer premium sound in a discreet aluminium housing. Meanwhile at the Yintai in77 shopping mall, integrator HKBN JOS (Shanghai) Company Limited has deployed the KY102 Electronic Beam Control (EBS) loudspeaker system. Featuring electronic beam steering technology, the line array delivered precise coverage and uncompromising performance in a notoriously complex environment. The mall’s skybridge, surrounded on three sides by LED advertising screens and flanked by residential apartments, now benefits from K-array’s crisp audio while minimising noise spill. With a maximum SPL of 138dB, IP64 protection rating, and advanced FIR-based beam control, the KY102-EBS delivers both power and accuracy while maintaining architectural integrity.

Alongside, K-array is reshaping retail experiences with its compact ceiling loudspeakers. HUAWEI integrated Tornado KTZC ceiling loudspeakers into its newly renovated flagship stores across China, including automotive sales areas, to create immersive atmospheres for customers. With a 2” high-efficiency transducer, 107dB peak SPL, and discreet design, the Tornado blends seamlessly with modern interiors. Zhao explains, “These loudspeakers blend seamlessly into the spatial design, delivering enveloping soundscapes whilst being perfectly integrated with the ceiling fixtures.”

The brand’s prowess also shines through at the Pingtan Primary School in Fujian Province selecting Python-KP102 I loudspeakers for its auditorium renovation. At one metre in length yet under eight centimetres in width, the slim enclosures adhere neatly to walls, maximising usable space while ensuring architectural harmony. Zhao reflects: “Leveraging K-array’s proprietary acoustic technology, the elongated arrays offer precise directivity, ensuring sound is projected accurately to every corner of the venue while minimising unwanted reflections.” The result is a versatile system capable of handling everything from daily assemblies to full-scale performances.
