This year saw Singapore celebrate its 51st Independence Day at the National Stadium. The Stadium with its closed dome-roof created a number of challenges to the creative and technical team. In addition, audience were seated 360 degrees around the stage, which meant additional considerations had to be taken into account.
What was truly impressive was the strong collaboration from all the different teams involved, from the creative side, to the choreographer, the costume maker and the technical team. The celebrations on 9th August was an immense success with most of the performers having trained for at least 8 months to get it right. The AV industry has to also take much of the accolades in helping make the event a success as the sound, light and visual feast helped to create a celebratory mood. To top it off, Hexogon broke the record in creating the World's biggest real-time tracking 3D projection.
