ETA: Audio Synergy Named First Shure DIS System SCN Partner In Malaysia

Yesterday Singapore took a big step with the formal launch of STAR. The acronym stands for Singapore Talent, Artistes and Resources Association.

It was heartening to see a good turnout with well recognised industry veterans leading the way to encourage membership. In brief STAR hopes to help the industry upgrade, comply with best practices and to champion the interest and well being of members. For a start, four groups of vocations have been identified to be part of STAR - these are Disc Jockeys, Master-Of-Ceremonies, Artistes (mainly performers) and the Resources group targeted at Audio, Visual and Lighting professionals. It is my hope that many, especially freelancers will become members as the objective and direction of STAR will be beneficial to them. Our ETA August issue will have a fuller detail about STAR so do keep a lookout for that.
