[Issue 115] December 6, 2017

I can't believe that we have come to the end of the year. This is our last E-newsletter for the year. Our first news is about Analog Way's acquisition of Finnish Media Server Manufacturer Picturall. This year we saw a number of acquisitions: ETC acquired HighEnd from Barco, Chauvet acquired ChamSys and recently Transom acquired Loud Technologies. There is certainly a fair bit of consolidation happening in the industry. What will the result be from these acquisitions both in terms of manpower and technology? Some acquisitions in the past have seen whole manufacturing or R&D teams released from duties, while others have seen the acquisitions seamlessly complementing technologies. This for sure will not be the last of the acquisitions, and I think it would be interesting to see how the above acquisitions pan out in the near future.
