This week, Formula One chief executive Bernie Ecclestone highlighted that no decision has been made as to whether the Singapore Grand Prix will continue to be held in Singapore after next year's race.
According to reports, it takes $150 million to organise the race with the Singapore Government co-funding 60 per cent of approved costs. From its peak, the event has seen lesser attendance, and TV viewership has also gone down. If it does not continue the Rental&Staging companies in Singapore will be affected. Especially companies that have been handling the concerts that go hand-in-hand with the race and also those who have supplied solutions around the track.
This seems to be a tough choice for the Government to make, especially considering current times where there is somewhat instability in relation to the world economy, with fears that this will continue for a few years.
