Intellivox provides clarity and intelligibility in Dublin

Sound Productions, a Dublin based sound consultancy, distributor and installer, has installed AXYS Intellivox 1608 Digital Directivity Controlled loudspeaker arrays as part of the refurbishment of the electrical systems at Rathmines Church in Dublin. All the electrical systems in the church have been upgraded and as part of this Sound Productions was appointed to design and commission a new sound system that would not only be able to ensure a high level of speech intelligibility within this highly reverberant interior but also be able to offer excellent music clarity as a sound reproduction system for the music groups that are becoming increasingly part of worship at the church.

 

“This was the first time we had used the Intellivox 1608’s and I was very impressed” said Peadar Carley from Sound Productions “Not only were they able to deliver intelligible speech reproduction, thanks to Duran Audio’s Directivity Control technology, but because these units have larger 6.5” drivers, rather then the 4” drivers in the standard Intellivox range, and 2 compression drivers they also provide a system that sounds great for music groups too. It’s looks are also an important factor in buildings like this one. The fact that the Intellivox is long and slim makes it easy to disguise.”

 

In addition to the two Intellivox 1608 units that were used to cover the main area of the church some additional Intellivox V90’s were provided to act as fills. www.duran-audio.com
